For over 15 years, Richard James has built a trusted reputation in waste management, helping customers with everything from responsible waste disposal to complete house clearances. Through this experience, he recognised that many clearances take place during emotionally significant life events – following the loss of a loved one, a move into residential care, downsizing or preparing a property for sale. He realised that people often need empathy, patience and reassurance just as much as they need a reliable clearance service.

To bring this vision to life, Richard joined forces with Petra Angel, whose passion for sustainability perfectly complements his practical experience. Holding a NEBOSH qualification in Environmental Management and Sustainability, Petra is dedicated to reducing waste and giving household belongings a second chance. Rather than seeing furniture and possessions as simply something to dispose of, she sees the stories, memories and value they still hold.

Using her network of charities, community organisations, furniture reuse projects and recycling partners, Petra works hard to ensure that as many items as possible are donated, repurposed or recycled responsibly. Together, Richard and Petra created James & Angel House Clearances – combining practical expertise with environmental responsibility to offer a service that is professional, compassionate and focused on giving belongings a new home wherever possible.
